Joovy - theBaBaSling Baby Carrier Review

With my second baby on the way I am really starting to worry about making myself available to two children. I remember with my first that most of our day was spent cuddling together, carrying her around the house, and pretty much just having her in my arms for the majority of the day. She wasn't a particularly fussy baby and would enjoy some time in her swing or rolling on the floor. But she mostly enjoyed being held and I enjoyed holding her.

Well, with two I will need to have my hands free. I didn't start to use any sort of a carrier with my daughter until she was about a year old. So the carrier that I have is not what I envisioned using to help me have my hands free for my toddler, yet still carry and cuddle my baby. I wanted a carrier that would allow me to cradle the baby and have a more natural position for him in the early months.

So when I saw the new carrier from Joovy I felt like it had me in mind with the design. TheBaBaSling carrier allows you to choose from several positions as your child grows. Here is a little bit of information from Joovy:
TheBabaSling by Joovy is a revolution in design, comfort and simplicity.  As advocates for "baby wearing," we believe theBabaSling is the most amazingly versatile, easy to use sling on the market today.

This hammock style sling is perfectly shaped to support a newborn’s developing spine while providing essential closeness and bonding between parent and baby.  With five carrying positions and easily adjustable straps (can be worn on right or left shoulder), theBabaSling is so easy to use it can be safely shared with grandparents, older siblings and caregivers.
I was thrilled to get the opportunity to check out theBaBaSling for myself.
When it arrived I was excited to see the nifty little carrying case that it came in. Perfect for packing it up tightly when traveling. The instruction guide was thorough in providing information in multiple languages. It walks you through the 5 different carrying positions and how to securely wear your baby.
I was most excited to try out the "Easy Tiger" position, which is intended for children 0-4 months. I was amazed at how easy it is to work with this sling. There are basically two clips with straps that easily tighten to where you are comfortable. The shoulder is padded for comfort and feels very natural on your body. It is definitely a carrier that one person can put on and take off by themselves, which will be very important when I'm home alone with two children.
Once the baby comes I will have to play with the
strap adjustments to make us both comfortable.

I found this carrier to be very comfortable and easy to use. I love how easy it is to transfer the carrier from one adult to the next with the one-size-fits-all capability. I felt like the baby was secure in the sling and could be repositioned easily, as well as taken out of the sling when sleeping. It also allows for you to breast feed using this carrier in two different positions, which I think is an amazing feature!

The carrier is 100% cotton and can be washed in the machine. Crucial with those unexpected spit ups. I have found Joovy products to be very high quality. We used their Nook highchair with my daughter and having it waiting in the wings for round two with the next baby. So I am very excited to put this carrier to some real use in the coming months.
